Life’s a beach
Tuesday, April 19th, 2005I made it! I finally moved into my beach pad. Luckily, I didn’t need goggles in the end.
I’ve been in here just over a week now and I love it. The view from my front window is lovely, the neighbours are really friendly and today it’s 27 degrees. What more could a girl want? 2 weeks off work would be nice, now I come to think of it.
My Dad phoned on Friday and asked if I could pick him up at the airport at midday on Monday. He decided he needed to come over and make sure his little girl was doing all right. All a bit last minute, but he’s staying with me for a couple of weeks and it is, of course, good to see a friendly face. Unfortunately my Mum (hey Ma!) wasn’t feeling too good last week, and decided she’d be better off at home with the cat, who’s also sickly at the moment - the poor old things.
I’m convinced my Dad’s going to be bored out of his mind, though. I’m working all day and knackered when I get home. My place is tiny and you can only walk up and down the boardwalk so many times in a week!
I get the impression he’s quite taken with the place, nevertheless. He’s not the only one either. So far, it’s been pretty good. It promises to be a fun-packed Summer, too if Sheila, my new neighbour upstairs has anything to do with it.
