Meet Kate

Kate is the founder of Kate Cannova Productions, a New York City-based production company working globally in three areas of focus: theatrical production, event planning and production, and exhibition production.

Broadway productions include: Waiting for Godot, Chess, Good Night, and Good Luck., Sunset Blvd. (Tony Award), Romeo + Juliet (Tony nomination), SMASH, Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club (Tony nomination), Swept Away, Once Upon a Mattress, An Enemy of the People (Tony nomination), Funny Girl, A Doll’s House (Tony nomination), Once Upon a One More Time, The Kite Runner, Head Over Heels, The Visit (Tony nomination), The Scottsboro Boys (Tony nomination, Olivier nomination, Evening Standard Best Musical). Off-Broadway and beyond: Damn Yankees (Arena Stage, DC), Funny Girl (National Tour), The Kite Runner (National Tour), Once Upon a Mattress (CTG), The Secret Garden (CTG), A Commercial Jingle for Regina Comet (DR2) & more. She has several projects in development including Trails (By Jeff Thomson, Jordan Mann and Christy Hall) and The Thing About Jellyfish (dir. Tyne Rafaeli, adapted by Keith Bunin based on the novel by Ali Benjamin). She is also thrilled to be a part of the Museum of Broadway!

Kate has over 20 years of experience in management consulting and marketing, leaving her role as a VP at TBWA in 2019 to finally embrace the flexibility and demands of being her own boss full-time (or at least being second-in-command to her now 8-year-old son). She is a Tony Award winner, an Olivier Award nominee, and an Evening Standard Award winner, among others.

Kate is a proud graduate of the University of Southern California School of Dramatic Arts, and has a master’s degree in Producing and General Management from the Columbia University School of the Arts. She serves on the USC School of Dramatic Arts Alumni Leadership Council and is the recipient of She Runs It’s 2019 Working Mother Of the Year Award. She is a member of the Broadway League and is part of its Legislative Council.
